I can see why you wanted to take this photo, there is something in it worth capturing. I looked at it a fair while, trying to work out what works and what doesn't. Here's what I worked out, the composition is good, the balance between the dark mass in the bottom left corner against the open empty space in the top right works great, as does the cluttered heaviness down the bottom third of the image slowly becoming whispy and open as the eye moves up to the top of the image. You have the white blot of the sun off centre, great move. All these things seem really excellent to me. I wonder if there is some kind of post processing that could be done to alter the sheer blinding harshness of the sun? I don't know much about that area yet, but it does seem to me this photo deserves some extra work to make it truly excellent. You show good vision to have seen this photo in the first place. Well done.

I like this shot - at first glance, it looked a little eerie to me, and at the same time kind of life-affirming (like the calm right after the storm). Very interesting. I love the colors - all the various shades of grays and blues.
