VINHO VERDE (Green wine) - wines are unique among the blended white wines of Portugal (and the world) attempting to harmonize delicate aromas and pettilance. The name, Vinho Verde, is somehow misleading. Vinho Verde wines are not made of “unripe” grapes as some people say, but are rather “young” wines in contrast to “aged” wines. There are red and white Vinho Verde wines available. The red ones are often a challenge to our culturally determined palates.

I have enjoyed wines from Portugal for more years than I am going to admit to. Whites, reds, and roses. You have a very good post here, both the picture and the narrative. I have also learned something about young wines tool.

Such a pretty field of flowers growing beneath the vines. I like your narrative. I don't know much about wines, but I never could sample an aged wine because they are expensive. Now I know what vinho verde is though and I can sound intelligent in a conversation about wine. lol
