The Carnation Revolution (Portuguese: Revolução dos Cravos), also referred to as the 25 de Abril, was a military coup started on April 25, 1974, in Lisbon, Portugal, that effectively changed the Portuguese regime from an authoritarian dictatorship to a democracy.

That's a beautiful carnation. I remember when I was a kid, we always wore a carnation in our lapels to church on Easter. Nice post, Antonio.

Beautifully colored flower and great history lesson. I have never seen purple lined flowers before. I like the way you blured the background as well.

Wow, this is stunningly beautiful. The petals look like the layers on a Flamenco dancers dress. The colour contrasting with the back ground too is lovely and the clarity very good. Fav'd and thanks for sharing!
