On June 12, 1987, U.S. President Ronald Reagan spoke to the West Berlin populace at the Brandenburg Gate, demanding the razing of the Berlin Wall. Addressing CPSU General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, Reagan said, “ General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!

Mr. Reagan definately had gumption when speaking of things he believed in, Great shot of this beautiful place. Great clarity. I allways loved the art at the top of this.

Oh I remember the Brandenburg Gate. I lived in Berlin with my Mom and grandparents for a year. Later when I came to America and the Wall came down, that was wonderful. So thank you for this lovely photo. It's fantastic. Verena
