Mercedes Benz Museum - Stuttgard - This fire-fighting pump was one of the first of this kind with a gasoline engine. While it was still drawn by horses, its water pump was driven by a seven-horsepower two cylinder engine. To generate its pump output of 80 gallons per minute by means of manpower, 32 firemen had previously been required.

It does sound funny, to have an engine on it, but have to use horses to bring it to the fire. Very interesting.
