This picture setup was originally for a herbarium project I had to do in my botany class. We students had to take pictures of various plants and we had to make sure that some personal item was in each photo. I decided to use my watch and place it in these azeales. I then noticed that it made an interesting shot so I played around with it. Thanks for viewing.

I really like the idea! I think if you had gotten rid of the leaves and replaced them with flowers...then you would have one heck of a watch ad!! :) Steve

A very nicely done shot! Exposure-check, perspective-check, center of interest-check, colors-check, interesting-check! There is only one thing I can critique, and it may just be the way I am looking at the photo, but it seems as though the watch is upside down. Putting it upright is the only thing I could think of to potentially improve this photo. :) Well done!!

I'ts an interesting project. Your watch falls perfectly into a proper third (for those who might not know the rule of thirds, try here: http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds) I think the image is a bit underexposed so my eye goes to the highlight on the edge of the watch instead of taking in the watch itself and then inspecting the blooms. I like the contrast of hard, cold metal against soft, fragile petals. I would have liked to see the entire image tack sharp or the watch tack sharp and the blooms more blurred for a dstronger depth of field. Keep playing, it's a good start. anne :-)

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.

Interesting composition. I'm glad the watch wasn't digital.

Things are more like they are now than they ever were before.
