It's a thistle of some kind. Good capture of the detail of their centers. The centers are a little different than the ones around my area. The background looks like it has a lot of graininess to it. It could be smoothed out by a noise reducer such as Neat Image,,,free download on the internet.. Otherwise, good capture.

It's a weed! Pull it out! Oh, and make sure you never step on one of these when you're running through the yard with bare feet... ow, boy, does that hurt! Anyway, despite my hatred for these little guys, I really like the photo.. it's a good angle and composition. Like PatAndre said, I think you could do with some manipulation on the background... maybe taking out the noise or just using a smudge tool to make the background less in-focus. Thanks for sharing this. :-)
