How beautiful Pat, never have seen anything like that. I love the way they open and are so delicate. What a great capture with lovely lighting, nice clarity and soft color. Thanks for sharing this one.

Well, the white one with the yellow center is the infamous "fried egg plant"( I believe this one is over easy..LOL ) Believe it or not I dont have a clue! (you CAN believe it?? lol ) But they're really neat looking! Sure funny they're openeing this time of year! They'd be neat to have..a last gasp of color before it goes away for the fall. But then you have lots of color in the fall where you are dont ya? Nice shot of these!!
Those are weird but pretty...must be some form of Alien life pod. My wife ordered some bloomers once...UPS showed up late....the guy said....sorry, I have some late bloomers for you.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. Henry D. Thoreau
These are one of my favorite flowers. They are Helchrysum or straw flowers. They dry nicely and look great in fall bouquets and wreaths. These are very pretty because they are pink. Pick them before they open up for long lasting dried flowers. Hang them upside down for a few weeks, then stick a floral stem through the center and you'll have flowers all winter long. Thanks for this one PJ. I haven't seen any of these in awhile.
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.
-Josemaria Escriva
This is a beautiful image. The flowers are truly a maserpiece and you have caught them perfectly. With the starnge weather we are having there are flowers popping up all over the place. Thanks for sharing a bit of your garden with us.

Lady in Red called then Straw Flowers. I'm sure she is right because I Have no idea what they are. If it is not a rose or an Iris, i'm lost. Beautiful capture though PJ
The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.
if it wasnt for that nice white tone of the petals, i would've guessed at a thistle hybrid. very nicely captured, but a bit spacey around the sides (my personal taste)
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
