Okay...so this is THE last from the glass and pottery place. This rush of water provides the power for this 300 year old converted mill...there's more information HERE The day we visited was after a stormy few days and the water level was very high creating that mist you see on the back of this plant from the fast-moving waterfall of which you see only a portion. We certainly wished we had our umbrellas :) We were allowed to walk all over and get up close and personal with not only the inner workings, but the workers themselves as they created the beautiful results you've been viewing on my previous posts..not so pretty here, but their efforts resulted in some very fine pieces ;)PJ

Okay..well, as long as I'm up late I may as well comment ont his one too! ;) That's quite a waterfall..and so close to the buildings! Wonder if they use it for power or anything? Sounds and looks like you had a great time at the glass works. Nice finish to your series PJ! Thanks for taking us along with you!! (NOW can I go to bed??) ;)

This place actually looks like it was built up around an abandoned mill. I can't believe there would be so much available hydropower and not have a mill right next to it. I tried to read the sign on the building to no avail. Can you say where this is PJ? You find all these really unique places. I love the perspective on the falls.

Spectacular! It must be an old mill because I can't see how a glass factory would need such power. I'd also like to know where this is. A keeper. Thanks for sharing this.

My gosh, the power in this shot is unbelievable, PJ! Technically well done but I'm just enjoying the entire scene, the detail in the buildings and the drama of the water. Good one!

Fantastic shot - very powerful. I love it. The contrast of the calm water above and the rush of the flow is great.

A+ composition: serenity in the top half of the picture then chaos in the roil and boil of the lower half. This should be shown to students in a science class to illustrate the transition from potential to kinetic energy!

There would be quite a surprise waiting for anyone running out the door at the far right of the picture.
