This was taken this evening at 5 pm eastern time. What you see is what I got. I didn't touch this up in the least, so that "path" you're seeing from the moon was what was really in the sky...and I have a witness to back me up :) Anyway, I don't know what phenomena of nature came together to create it, but here it is as I saw it. I imposed some trees on it from another shot I had made in which I wasn't still enough and the trees came out, but not the moon.So here is the composite shot and this is the one that got the most votes in the c-index category. I appreciate ya'll helping me decide which one to keep :)PJ

Boy, you sure didn't make this easy! I like this one, but I love birch trees. It has a romantic kind of feel to it. But then I like the other one which I think I would have cropped some just so the moon wasn't smack dab on center. The one of the moon alone emphasizes just the moon and the lovely moonlit clouds. I think I'm going to have to go with the other one, but maybe....oh heck, I told you this wouldn't be easy. I see why you asked for help deciding. Let's see what everyone else has to say. LOL

Ok..looks like I'm staying here..lol First what was the name of the moon man that witnessed it & how did he get back up there?? LOL I think they call them cheeseheads..no wait..that's Green Bay fans..but I digress off the original subject now. What was it again? Oh yeah that moon thing! Very cool PJ! Great job & good eye catching it! May be a once in a lifetime deal! I think this one holds the eye to it better. The trees seem to accent it a bit for me. I really like the clouds in the shot too, they look great! Excellent shot my friend! :)

Truely a magnificent view! I think I like this one best too, PJ. They are both so good, and I agree with Cindy, that you have made our decision making a bit tough, but I have to choose this one. Why you ask? Because I too, like birch trees, and the branches in the foreground really add something special to it. And for some reason, I had not noticed the clouds like I did in this shot. This one still has that mystical, serene look, but this one also has a feel of romanticism. You have done a marvelous job here. Well done, my friend! :)

I like this one best but they are both very nice images, and the pathway is really a beautiful sight
Just as pure coincidence, that same moon is now in my part of the world:) and guess what, where I work are two very lovely silver birch trees growing in the courtyard. Just before I left tonight I took a couple of shots of them shining palely in the moonlight, and then I come here and see this picture. Totally irrelevant I know, but still a strange coincidence, she says as she goes off. . . . muttering to herself . . . .

Today it is the 6th of Dec. and Santa was on his way to make his first visit to plan his route on Christmas day. That is why the path is so lit
up :-). How you did that I don't know but it is a great photo, PJ.

Dinn't have the pleasure of seeing the first, but I'll take your word that this is better. A very fine noiseless compostion, breathtaking in its dramatic textures, and perfectly enhanced by the birches in the foreground. Thanks for doing all the work, so we all may enjoy this terrific image.......Neil
