PJ, I think your tree is a Hawthorn tree and the specific name is "Crimson Cloud Hawthorn". It is named that due to the blooms that it creates. I bet it has a sweet scent to it when the blossoms are like they are now....full!
The absolute sure knowledge of the name of this tree is that the bark sort of peels away from the trunk of the tree as it matures. That is the giveaway to a Hawthorn tree.. Obviously, I could be wrong though.
Great capture of your fine specimen. Thanks for sharing this with us ;=)

Not the same as our 'Hawthorns'!..ours has spiky needles and have small white flowers called may blossom!....
but this one is a beauty!...I love the way it trails over the fence...wonderful shot!
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

This is a beauty. That link shows an identical flower but certainly not an identical photo. PJ, you could probably sell your photo to jareds garden. lol Terry

Very beautiful flowers PJ and the rustic fence is nice too, making a fine composition.
I have only ever seen a white hawthorn before, but the leaves look very similar. The white hawthorn is know in parts of England as the "Bread & Cheese tree" as the leaves really do have that taste.I used to love munching on them as a child.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I used to have a pink hawthorne but the flowers were insignificant in comparison to these beauties. (Never tried eating it either.) Love the flowering branch against the wood fence rails. Well done!
