Yes, some of my friends may recognize those trees. This was taken from my front deck where the best seat in the town for fireworks exists...except for the trees..but it's better than battling the traffic I suppose. I didn't know they were scheduled for tonight, so this is a quick-set-up-the-tripod-and-hope-for-the-best shot. My first ever decent fireworks pic. (note: They were about a mile away)

Gosh I'm the first to be able to comment! I actually really like the trees, they give the shot so much more than just 'fireworks' in the sky! They frame it in such a special lovely way!! The slight purple colour is totally lovely with the orange. For a first ever good fireworks picture, you did sure do this well, my friend! I like it very very much..Verena

looks like the display is perfectly positioned for a fantastic view from that deck PJ! the sky is all lit up! well done in capturing these fireworks - it is a lot harder than most of us think, until we try it ourselves!

Well, you are right. It isn't worth the effort of climbing into the car and then trying to find a parking place to see the fireworks, when you can see them so well right from your own yard. I love the orange afterglow of the ones you caught here and the little bit of purple that you have also used as a border really compliments this so beautifully against the black. Wonderfully done, PJ!

you did really well on this one. the burst from the fireworks is marvelous. the colors are brilliant. fireworks are hard to photograph at least for me.
