When I took this butterfly's picture, the wind was really blowing hard, and I think what you are seeing is the insect trying to hang on more than actually feeding. I used a motion-type blur for the background to let you feel more of what the action was like that day. :)

This 'jumpy-out' (perfect description Mr Bob) frame is great! I'm not understanding what the black lines are? Colors are fab as usual and I can this butterfly is trying to keep his wings folded so the wind doesn't fling him away..

The Black lines are just bits of grass that were also caught in the wind. I left them there to again illustrate how hard the breeze was blowing that day. :)PJ

Another fine "jumpy-outy" composition. Might just be me, but I think the color of the frame makes the 'jump-out' jump a little too far. Possibly a pastel pulled out of the shot might be better? Great composition all the same. :)

Hey PJ,
Bits of grass, umm, I like the lower one but not the upper one, it hides a bit of the butterfly's body, that's a shame,
A beautiful image, truly great clarity and pop,
Nicely done,

Thanks for sharing
