With all the building excitement of the Saturn/Cassini Huygens Mission - it's easy to forget there is still an ongoing exploration happening on Mars and here is a very detailed shot taken there by ESA's orbiting probe.

Have you noticed since everyone has a camcorder these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?

a really weird perspective as well - it looks like a crater but as im sure you all knew anyways - its actually a huge plateau like volcanoe.

I did a science project on Olympus Mons; we had to make a model of a volcano of our choice. My dad and I are so intrigued by space that we decided to make Olympus Mons (with green lava)! This is a wonderfuly sharp and interesting picture of Olympus Mons.

Olympus Mons is SO BIG that if you stood at the foot of the volcano, you could not see the peak! This is because it would be over the horizon due to the curve of the planet!
