Back dropped by a blue and white panorama, Space Shuttle Discovery approaches the International Space Station on Thursday during STS-120 rendezvous and docking operations. The Harmony node (which has already been successfully attached to the station) is visible in Discovery's cargo bay.

Cool shot of the Discovery ... the background is awesome also. I'm not really that much into NASA Space shots, but this one caught my attention instantly. Nicely done Phil.

As much as I think this is a great picture, I wonder why everyone is congratulating you on such a great picture. Did you actually take the picture? :) If so, what can I do to catch a ride up there next time? I'm just teasing, it's a great shot and I'm sure I'll use it for a desktop in the near future. Thanks for posting it.

nope - I didnt take it :-) as with all the NASA shots I post - these are usually from the kennedy media centre archives and my input is restricted to cleaning up and enhancing them as required for use one the desktop. this one for instance went through a proces of noise removal, masking to define and sharpen the edges and neutralising the grey balances.
