Nice capture Mike. The berries add a nice touch of color as well. Is this a female? Most of the mockingbirds around here are much more slim and trim....maybe they don't have to put on as much of a coat for the winter :) Nicely composed and presented. Thanks.
Please know that I enjoy your work even though I don't always get to comment. I try to look at (and enjoy) all your new posts and always appreciate the time you take to stop in at my gallery as well. Have a happy day ;) Anita
A really eye-catching shot, Mike - the colourful branches and berries make a great contrast to the bird's more subdued colouring. Excellent composition. Good work (And thanks for showing me what a mockingbird looks like; I don't think we get them in the UK.)
The bird definitely stands out in this one, Mike. I like that the branches make some nice diagonals and the bird makes a contrasting diagonal to the branches. I think the bird is a little bright though and the background looks like it's a bit grainy. Were you using a high ISO perhaps?
Mike, you have a fantastic gallery and I love the birds! This lil guy reached out to me. He's puffed up against the cold and looks so cute. Very well composed with good colors and fine details of this cutie - his lovely markings, gentle eye and long tail feathers. The branches have lovely colors as do those berries. Super image and is saved :^)
