it just seems a little curious to see this bird climbing aroun on the tree trunk. i haven't seen this type of behavior before.

It looks like he is maybe a young one that can't fly. Who knows?! Quite a unique capture!!

I wonder if he is going up the trunk, or simply exploring a trunk laying on the ground. Hard to tell with the background and those green leaves could be coming from some other plant. From his spots, I'd guess this is an immature bird who is trying to get back into the nest. I hope he didn't injure a wing! Photographically, this is an interesting subject. As a desktop it doesn't hold focus real well at 1181x787.
