This photograph was taken in Washington looking south from the area known as the Goodnow Hills Bench. The canyon in the distance drops approx. 2000 feet to the Columbia River and on the other side of the canyon is Oregon. The Goodnow Hills Bench has several wild orchards dating to the early 1800s and are some of the oldest orchards in the Pacific Northwest.

I know the borders are something of a distraction but I can't find a way to give you the entire full 35mm frame at the sizes that I'm allowed to enter without putting on the borders to give the 1600 x 1200 size. I hope it isn't too distracting.

Very nice shot & beautiful scenery! If you hadnt said otherwise I would have thought this was near the Badlands of South Dakota. The background terrain reminds me a lot of them!

It's both interesting and beautiful scenery. I too find the borders a distraction.
