Last winter I was at Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Station helping map out some of the de-commissioning efforts. The day I arrived I flew into Pellston Michigan and on the drive down along the Lakeshore was a beautiful almost spring day, the snow was melting, the sky was blue and the Lake was gorgeous. That night I was awakened to the windows in my room shaking in a wind. The next morning it was 15 below zero and the Lake ice had blown into the shore. I never have seen such a dramatic weather change in less than 12 hrs. This is a view of Lake Charlevoix in Charlevoix Michigan, two days later. Charlevoix is just south of Petoskey and north of Traverse City. I almost wasn't able to leave. They closed the airport in Pellston 1/2 hr after I left. Coldest two weeks in January I have ever spent. Brrrrrrrrrrr..

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them, and you have their shoes. -Frieda Norris

Makes you want to dive in don't it? I'm not looking forward to winter even when the snow is this beautifully unbroken. Lovely and forbidding at the same time.

Beautiful shot! I love snow, at least looking at it, and occasionally playing in it, but love having the option to leave it back where it's at and living in Arizona's perfect for that :-D Great shot! thanks for sharing :)

You were right about this shot, funny how quickly the snow can come in a storm. This spring we got a huge storm and piles of snow at the end of May or beginning of June. It was terrible, but only 2wks later we were into the warmth of summer.
A gorgeous shot Michael.

You captured the bleakness of this shot very well. The simple black and white contrast is well done. On my desktop it goes!

I have no inherent talents. That's why I enjoy yours so much. Thank you for making this planet a better place.

Strange how I missed this photo of yours also.It looks the way I feel at the moment. Deep cold feelings. I will save this for sure. I hope you are doing well. Verena

Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.
