A peaceful soft early morning, watching the Pelicans and Canadian Geese prepare for the day ahead. This image was taken in Yellowstone National Park two years ago. I had hiked 8 miles into a small lake where moose had been spotted the day before. We started out at about midnight and traveled by flashlight and lantern in order to get there by sunrise. When it became light enough to see we were disappointed to find no moose. However I did mange to shoot 18 rolls of film.

I like your stories just as much as your images Mike. My eye is drawn straight to the Pelicans in the mist. Is this your breath technique once again? Wonderful image and I can just dream the rest of the setting;-)

the image that you have given us here is just wonderful. the canadian geese are close to my heart but it's really interesting for me to see them with pelicans. looks just like a cool fall morning in my neck of the woods. great shot!

This is a wonderful image, well seen and well composed. I don't think the frame adds anything - in fact it distracts my eye from the image.
