This Bull Elk was photographed in Yellowstone National Park. I was using my 500mm lens with a 1.4 extender. This way I could photograph him safely, both for him and me. This is their rutting season and they can be very dangerous if approached to closely.

Wonderful capture. Not much more to say then that I continue to admire your skills with the camera. (And I keep wonder how you get the time to do all those wonderful shots... ^_^)

Fantastic shot Michael, good thing you kept your distance, and how nice that mother nature did her artistic part in this.

I have been busy coding an auto-response script for your pictures that analyzes everything people have said then comes up with something original while I just drool on my shirt. It's a little buggy, but here goes .... bzzzt, whrrr, clonk ....

I love the pic and i would love to use it as a backgound on my puter.does anyone know what size i have to convert it to to make it fit a regular monitor at 1024x768 ? I wish they would make a special section for this size photo and not mix them with the regular 1024x768s.I can't belive they don't charge to get in this place : )

A fabulous shot! I love the lighting, how all the colours are subtle - not too much contrast. And I especially love the editing you have done on the leaves slightly - it lets that magnificent beast stand out even more. Into my favs. without a doubt.

Oh my, did you ever "bag" this one. Look at that rack. Does this animal know how fortunate he was that you "shot" him with a camera instead of something else?
Beautiful job. I will cherish this in my collection, rest assured.
