This old skeletal tree stands all alone against the elements. The tree made a valiant effort, but with the drought out west it lost its bid for life against the test of time. Perhaps one of its' seeds will sprout, in one the new storms, and outshine its progenitor....... Black and white is something you haven't seen from me before, but I thought that it better portrayed the feeling of desolation that the image seemed to evoke.

I really think this is a neat image...it is quite dark but also very inspirational after all in death there is also life.....most thought provoking

It's funny. The black and white makes the grass look like waves when you view this image in thumbnail. Nice.

You got an excellent start in black & white, Michael ! I like this one very much. The grass (almost seems to be on fire), the off-road, the clouds, the lonesome tree....a wonderful composition. High marks.

In B/W the parched grasses look like a sea's fury trying to take it down. Good choice, adds to the barren feel.

At first, it looked as if the tree was taken away by the sea... it really is an awckward shot as it refers to many interpretation... wow...

It seems as if that tree is the only one left in the world, and the flood waters are going to claim it. Such desolation!

What a thought provoking photo - I am afarid we don't have too many of these in Caedes nowadys It wouldn't be that powerful if you presented it in color. It almost seems out of this world to me.
