The wheat is nearing harvest. It shouldn't be more than 3 weeks away. From town we can watch the dust plumes and see the combines, in the Horse Heaven Hills South of us, as they harvest.
Beautiful isolation amongst the millions of plants...looks like a bumper crop coming along nicely. We await that big harvest moon into the wee morning hours. Always a pleasure Mike:-)

"I wrote your name on a piece of paper but by accident I threw it away...
I wrote your name on my hand but it washed away...
I wrote your name in the
sand but the waves whisked it away....
I wrote your name in my heart and forever it will stay........."
Tell me you shot this RAW, Michael. Please. I don't want to believe that anyone can get this kind of clarity shooting a JPG. It will mean I have that much more work ahead of me. Great short field here. The background blurs enough to make the foreground really stand out.
I always marvel at your photos. You can actually shoot feelings in such a simple thing as wheat - something I always wanted to be able to do. Plain beautiful as always!
This shot is SO vivid.. against the soft background.. Very fine focus, light shimmer, and color mixed with the sunlight reflection! The viewer can almost feel the breeze blowing through the wheat whiskers. I think it is a "10" ~Ouimon~
You know, looking through your gallery I've come to wonder, have you ever uploaded something that was well not good? Everything in your gallery is great! This shot is no exception, the colors here are magnificent! The position you caught the wheat at is great! One of your best yet, this is another for my favorites!
Here is a perfect example of how simplicity can translate into sophistication. The composition is great. Great capture. The background is in wonderful balance where the detail and colour of the image overall is concerned.
Then in their trouble they called to the Lord, and He saved them from their distress. He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains in pieces. (Psalm 107:13-14)
There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again. (groan)
The golden tones you have captured in this photo is outstanding. The clarity and blending of the colors really got my attention. I've enjoyed viewing your landscape photographs.
