My guess would be ... a spark that is half extinguished at circumference and still glowing inside. LOL

No idea what it is but it's very striking and the image has a great, blurred background. Personally I would have cropped the image a bit more but it is lovely.

It is a mimosa. These trees are all over the southeast United States where my wife is from. Good picture. I always have trouble focusing on fuzzy flowers.
