Also known as The Olgas, Kata Tjuta is as sacred to the local aborigines as Uluru (Ayer's rock). This photo was taken from the sunset viewing area for Uluru, Northern territory, Australia. Kata Tjuta means 'many heads' in the language of the local aborigines. The highest rock is 457m in height.

What a gorgeous sunset and so well captured. Love the silhouettes of the trees against that bright red/orange sky. Very well done and thanks for sharing this post and the interesting writeup.

It looks as though you caught the sun just a split second from going down David. The way the hues of the sun are shining through these trees are just amazing,excellent work.

Oh my this is breathtaking! The beauty of the multi-colored sky with the small whisps of clouds and of course the landscape. This turned out very nicely. Thanks for sharing - do you have any of the landscape in the light of day? That would be cool to see too.

What a unique colour in this magnificient sunset! I dont think I've ever seen that colour in any of ours...here I am across the way from you...I am at the Pacific...in ORegon...and have seen 28 years worth of sunsets but not one of this colour that I remember...I am so glad you posted this...if you would let me, I would love to do a canvas painting of this due to my trying to get this colour on a canvas..let me know ok? verena
