This is the thick forest of Western Ghats. It's 12 PM in the morning and the Sun rays are still struggling to penetrate to the forest floor. These trees are humongous and this is one of the few places you can still see them in this form. De-forestation and illegal cutting of trees in other forests is reducing such forests. This is not the best of photography but still wanted to share with you the rich natural resources that we have in these parts. And by the way we don't have fall colours, we have evergreen forests. All comments are welcome.

Hey Prashanth
Looks like a picture straight out of The Jungle Book! Deforestation is taking place all over the world right now! It is sad but a true fact of life right now! Wonderful image love the eternal greens!

It's a beautiful wood landscape. It's sad to see that people have to tear down the forest. Nicely done.

Fortunately this forest is still intact as its part of a protected forest range. But that's not the same in other places. Too much of poaching and illegal deforestation is still happening in other places. Lots of wild life is gone. Tiger is almost extinct in India. I just hope people realize their mistakes and wake up before its too late.

It seems over here, if they aren't cutting the forests up, they are burning up. Every year, thousands of acres of forests are destroyed, some by careless campers, and other intentionally. It's a shame. Nice shot of the trees there, P.

The thick jungle growth looks quite impressive especially with the sun shining.

A good capture, nice rich and deep green colours in the shot. I like the light in this one, though it is blown out somewhat in the upper right portion. This looks like quite the place to visit and explore.

In order to discover who you are, first learn who everybody else is; you're what's left.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
