This is little more down the line. I loved the distant mountains here. All these trees get submerged during rainy season. I had been here to this place for the first time, some eight years when the gates of this dam was closed to collect water and have seen people vacating their homes where they stayed for many generations. I had seen the last last family moving out of this place as the flood waters had entered their front yard and their house was about to be submerged within a day or two. Was a very sad moment, and it is still vivid in my memory and I will never forget what cost do we pay for all the development.

It's amazing how far you can down the waterway.

It is sad what people lose when we over development the land.

Nice shot, Prashanth.

You've set up your shot here, well ... with the consideration and elements of foreground interest. Namely, the small trunks/branches in the water.

Caveats?

Well, again ... have this nagging thought in my mind (been happening as of late and with other images, so am not specifically referring to you ... forging ahead ...) ... when I take your image here in some more.

Actually, a couple. :oP

Kidding a bit. Here goes ...

Moving the horizon off of the midline some more. Some, that is. Lower perspective, perhaps?

And then, that of the small area of land that peeks in from the right-hand side. Small/minor distraction, really. As is, you could consider a small crop off of the bottom.

That nonsense of mine aside ... very pleasant to view, well-composed (you know, for the most part :oP ... <--- yes, I am kidding some more here :o) ) with good natural colour.

More on the plus side of things?

Took your image up to the highest resolution and digital noise was not present to any degree. Well done on the technical side of things.

Thanks for sharing this scene with us. I do enjoy it very much. :o)

It's always so beautiful to see a simple scene like this become so enjoyable. Especially with your commentary, it touched my heart very much. I love your thoughts on this and the way the whole photo merged together so nicely. Such a lush forest. V.

Very nicely captured Prashanth and good narrative. I like the reflections of the submerged trees and view of this landscape. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, simply wow. Saw this in the voting booth and I just had to comment. I, too, love the distant mountains. I also like the contrast of color and texture provided by the irregular submerged trees.

A very nice panoramic view of the water and the green hills in the distance. The reflections look wonderful too. A very good image Prashanth.

Great shot, good lighting and composition.

I would clone out the 'lil land area in the right corner.

Reflections are perfect, I like the serenity in here:o)

This is a well done image! Love those old dead trees sitting where the back waters caught up to them and drowned them away! Very interesting image!
