Priyantha...this is absolutely 'STUNNING'!...I already have it on my desktop...it is amazing how such beauty still exists in this world today....you have managed to capture this one brilliantly and I commend you for it!...the purple colour of that flower really stands out against the water and the background.....grateful to you for sharing it!.....Bob
Oh, this is absolutely wonderful! I've never seen a waterfall like this, sorrounded by rolling hills...Beautiful landscape, great composition, I love the purple bush, it gives more color to the picture. Great job, and thank you for showing us this beautiful landscape of your country.
Hi Priyantha, you have given us one of the most beautiful sceneries to see!
Those purple flowers give it colour, bright front, nice frame and depth. I also like the bright glow of the grass. It will definitely be on my desktop. Good work!
This photo has so much: the misty sky, the rough trees in the background, the smooth grass, the fresh water, the colourful flowers and all this mixed together in an amazing picture. Well done!
Oh this is so magnificient! Here in ORegon we have many waterfalls, but I have never seen one without ferns and trees aNd moss right next to it. This is so open and lovely! Its like a picture to a story in a storybook! And the way you have the lovely flowers and grasses framing it on the left, how very beautifully done! The way you also got the photo of the water running down...its perfect...just perfect, not all white like some appear, but this appears as it is....well, the whole scene is simple awe inspiring my friend! Your photos are a joy to view!!
This is an amazing capture Priyantha. I love the gentle rolling hills all around this waterfall as well as the beautiful purple flora. The green vegatation in the foregorund adds some great depth to this shot and makes the waterfall seem even more real. For added drama, you included the mist of the mountains. Well done and may I wish you & yours the happiest of holidays. Thank you :~)
I just picked my socks up because this image just knocked them off. Ditto what has been said before me--very fine image and in my favorites. I am tired of the snow here and this really looks good.
Edit: I hope the environmentalists are able to save this wonderful waterfall. We are currently trying to stop Oil Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. While I don't know a better system then free enterprise--Corporate entities and their toadies--Like Senator Stevens from Alaska--still need close watch and moderating to protect our natural resources against their greed.
And there is yet another place that I have to visit sometime.
My parents in law are going to Sri Lanka in febuari, I will show them this photo so they will know where to go to!
Thanks Priyantha!
More beautiful Sri lankan scenery. This must be a fantastic sight to see in person, and its great we can visit this place from our computer and still get a feel for the scale and power of this waterfall. The purple flowers on the right make a nice contrast of colour and the mist completes the photo.. thanks for sharing this fantastic photo.
Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I do not get to your pictures as soon as you post them, I apologize. I try. Also if I do not respond for awhile it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it just means I'm really tied up with life.
I just saw this on the front page of Caedes Priyantha and wondered how I had missed it because it was posted in December, but now I see that was over a year ago! lol! It has your stamp on it! breathtaking view and wonderful capture! I am glad I found it! Patti
