This is a temple situated in an area called "Sithulpahuwa".The Rock Caves and dagobas (Sthupa or a shrine like place) at Sithulpahuwa are well-known. Arahants (Enlightened monks ) numbering 12,000 had seen living in the caves on 2nd C. BC. Situated in the jungle strip in the Southern most part of Sri Lanka.

it's a wonderful shot. maybe it's a bit too dark (a little too much polarizer?). the dark part right and bottom could be just a tad lighter, then i think it would be perfect. in the meanwhile, i'd sure like to go there.

The image as a whole seems a little on the dark side.. but its not necessarily something that detracts from the iamge too much. The composition is very good. It's great to see all these amazing places i have never seen before.. there is so much to see in your country.

earlier on i made a comment about the rocks being dark. they are not dark. my other computer screen makes things look dark and the colors look dull. sorry for the comment . its a wonderful shot!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this photo with us. If not you we wouldn't probably even know about the exsistance of this exceptional temple. I like the way you have composed the scene but it would have more impact if it were brighter. The dark rock seems a bit monotonous and together with the greenery it constitutes over a half of the image.
