This is a portrait of my girl friend. Done using an original sketch over. Start to end in Photoshop cs2. Approx 7-8 hours of work. With this art I learnt a great deal of drawing and painting a face. Specially eyes and lips. It’s a long and tiring process but I’m happy with the results. I know I can and will do better in the future. Maybe tomorrow I can upload some step by step progress images of this. So you can get more in deapth idea of it.

An image is a door to your soul, your imagination is the key that opens that door.
Your girlfriend is very beautiful Priyantha and your work is stunningly awesome! You have dedicated yourself to learning how to do this and you are quite successful at it. I cannot imagine doing work like this but neither can I draw, so I guess that is what leaves me out :)

I particularly like the work that you did on her eyes ... 'soulful' comes to mind as a descriptor, but even that does not quite do them justice. There is a lot more behind those 'windows to the soul' than in that word alone.
And her expression ... you managed to convey/portray a person and not just a digital drawing. There is a quiet warmth and presence about her ... and in your image here.
The background is excellent. Well suited in colour palette and very complimentary.
