Now then, time to take the gloves off (<--- kidding a bit here) ...
Idea/concept? Really love the thought behind your photo here.
With a caveat ... kind of, sort of.
The stone is verging on being too amorphous to my eyes.
Taking your image in some more ... it might be a compositional consideration more so (my novice and humble opinion, of course).
Tone are good.
I might bave been tempted to sharpen the moon some. Looking at the highest resolution, although some ... some, being the operative word ... noise is present, rather inherent in low light conditions anyways and am not sure what camera and model you use ... think you could mask the moon from that of the background and accomplish a sharpening and/or contrast adjustment and not exacerbate the noise issue. Again, and reiterating ... the noise is minor at best.
That said ... am enjoying your work that you posted. :o)
As presented to us, your image certainly invokes and evokes interpretation and mood. So ... well done and looking forward to seeing more from your mind's eye ... and camera.
The problem with coming across a picture after Les has been there is that there is usually very little to add. Perhaps a slightly smaller cross, but that would change the mood. As it stands it is a direct confrontation of Death with the Moon, the eternal(well, very long lived moon) and the ephemeral nature of life, the light of the night with the darkness of the stone. Anyway, it appeals to me. Faved.
I like the mood it conveys. I feel sadness because I am obviously kneeling at the grave and look up to see the moon. The great thing about this sight is that people are here to help. Les is one of them.
