The Ouroboros is the symbol of a serpent devouring its own tail. It is one of the oldest mystical symbols in the world. It represents (primarily) balance, infinity, and the cyclical nature of all things. Thanks for looking!
I like your artistic skills Lisa. The snake head is an amazing likeness to the real thing. That being said I don't prefer snakes but I do prefer your skill in creating it.
I actually strove to create an almost comically sweet looking, not terribly realistic snake, because we have so many folks on Caedes who get the heebie-jeebies over anything reptilian. :)
Lisa, What can I add to the other great comments? This is exceptional, and I agree with Frank about the coloring and details in the snakes head. I'm with Les, I should put it on auto to fave your creative works. tigs=^..^=
Join me in the above comments of Les, Frank, Bob, Raj, and Sandi (in particular the one of Les with a humorist touch), because it's HQ artistry with a high level of symbolism too, Lisa. Think it's the first (artificial) snake that hasn't frightened me, ☺ ☺ ☺ . Would almost have said to it: "Enjoy your meal!"

Thank you, Bob. Apophysis is a flame generator. I would recommend Apophysis 2.02. It's a free download, fun to play with, and easy to use!
Thank you, Raj! :)
Thank you, Sandi. You are a sweetheart. I appreciate you taking the time to say anything at all!
And thank you, C. I commend you for your artistic viewing bravery, because I know that you don't like the creepy crawlies. So I am honored that you even braved a look.
Your snake appears transparent in places and this gives it a slightly glassy texture. I can imagine these as earrings hanging on a ladies earlobe, as reptiles have always been fashionable in jewelry!
Well done Lisa on your illustration, I really like it. (o:
It was on my list of things to do anyways, so, might as well check it off the list now while I am here.

Is there an Apophysis flame somewheres in there?
That said..
And sorry for the redundancy of words.. however, and forging ahead.. nice work.
I particularly like the overall colour palette and the snake head itself.
And..
But, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us, Lisa.
