Better idea than my diving suit - put on your rubber boots and go in a bit deeper Dorothy. You must use flash and you will have some big barnacles and things to photograph. Nice lighting in this shot. I like it.

My favorite things are the kelp, the band-aid structural repairs, the coarse woodgrains, and the pier post reflections.

The electrical box is a bit of a concern (yikes!).

Yes , this tone is perfect for this and it is interesting to study in this photo. You could get a drink from the water pipe while you get that blow dry.

Looks like it has been through a lot. I like the different heights of the waterline on the three outer piles. Nice capture.

Intriguing composition however. Wonder if a so called 'fill-in flash' would have improved the quality of your image, like Raj has suggested above. Think it would probably reduce the mysterious character of your photo.
