I watched in horror as this gull kept getting closer to the sun. "Get away," I screamed, but it was too late. I sobbed as I watched his flaming body drop into the sea.

This is my shot for Manic Monday. No birds were harmed in the making of this photograph. In lieu of flowers, all monetary gifts can be donated to the Dorothy Michaels Seagull Sanctuary.

Oh, thank God Dorothy I thought the bird was too close to the sun. Your dogs stood their waiting for the burning bird to fall! Good work.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors.

Lol! You crack me up Dorothy! I will add that that this is a good action capture with a nice silhouette, set against that beautiful sky.

That's what happens when Jonathan Livingston gets all hyped up on Icarus bravado.

Nice capture, Dorothy. The gull's silhouette is striking against the sun and sky. And you've captured the beauty that gulls have when they dance on the breeze.

Think that this 'maritime pigeon' isn't suicidal at all, Dorothy.
It has only forgotten to wear its parachute, ☺ .
Perfectly timed and very well taken 'action shot', and it's a good entry for Manic Monday.
