Flower of bottlebrush tree (Callistemon). The 'flower' is actually a series of clumps of stamens (petals are almost nonexistant) that open from the bottom out to the end of the branch before they fade away. This one has just a few more to open. Native to AUS but do very well in SoAZ USA.

Good detail on this beautiful bottlebrush. They make for fun photographs. The spot of blue sky adds a good background for part of the stamen. These don't grow where I live, but I have enjoyed the photographs of them that I have seen in the past couple of years. Thanks for sharing this with us :~)

We have wild bottlebrushes growing near my house. They are a favourite stop for all the nectar eating birds. I like the way the stamens show against the blue sky.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

The colors of this photo are so sharp and clear. I love how the red pops but then the eye is pulled to the green of the foliage but immediately pulled to the unbelieveable blue of the sky...very detailed picture but very pleasing to explore. Thank you for introducing me to a new tree with just an amazing flower.

Amazing red color on that bottlebrush flower. The detail & clarity are suberb. I live in the north so these do not grow here....it is always a joy to see flowers & plants I would not normally have the opportunity see. An excellent capture & thank you for sharing.

I love how the red just bursts life into the picture. Very clear detail on both the bottlebrush and the leaves. They are very interesting flowers...very odd and unique looking. I think that is why I like them so much...and I love how you captured the flower in your picture. Lovely!!
