This is a smallish potted hibiscus plant; not sure how it got its name on the tag. It puts out lots of blooms though, 7 at one time once this year - only one right now :(
And you only needed one beauty, Rick, to accomplish such a wonderful photo! Well done in every way possible! Curious as to how it got its name, though - hurricanes usually come in multiples, too.
A gorgeous plant, and an excellent shot, with the contrasting green, good lighting, nice angle. The colors are beautiful, the curves are graceful, and I appreciate that it's so close up; I like my desktop filled with color.
One small, picayune thing...I wish you had brushed off that speck of soil or whatever it is on the front petal...it just draws my eye like a magnet. Maybe you can clone it out and then this would be 'picture perfect'.
A beautifully presented capture with magnficent clarity and colors. What delight to view full screen. Excellent post Rick. Thanks so much for sharing the beauty.
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
100 percent 10 in the voting booth...even with the tiny blemish on the petal. I love the way the stamen is twisted slightly, so that it adds even more eye appeal to this already striking flower. What a beauty..and you grow this inside, you say? I'm going to look and see if I can find a plant like this. Life's too short not to enjoy all the beauty that's afforded us, and to think I would never have seen this flower, probably, if you hadn't shown it to us. Just love those inner aspects of ruby and how well they "bleed" out onto the snowy white of the petals...scrumptious..thanks :)PJ .in my faves, of course
Nice job presenting this flower Rick. We have a couple of Hibiscus plants in the back yard. The blossoms are huge (Dinner Plate size). With loads of blossoms in August. Only down side is the short life span of the blossom and when they fall off ... the patio ain't pretty. :o) This one you captured is gorgeous.
