This is Finger Rock pokin' through the clouds. Taken this afternoon, the day after Tucson, Arizona got 2"+ of snow (airport elevation: 2700'; just 60 mi from Mexico). The larger sahuaro cacti on the near ridge are 40'+. That ridge is also the city's northern boundary at the Santa Catalina Mtns. (a summertime pic from the same location also in my gallery)

Forty feet! Wow, it's hard to imagine! You were up pretty high for this shot. Really different perspective on the terrain and the meteorology of this place.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

What a truly dynamic photo of this area. That it is shrouded in mist is spectacular and what unusual weather you're having out there.

Maybe another quarter of an hour and the clouds would get thinner to see more of the imopressive view? I bet the panorama must have been breathtaking...

If you admire nature for its creations why don't you visit the gallery of its reporter...
