... leaving eggs on a kaffir lime tree on my patio. This type of butterfly searches out citrus trees for its eggs. The 'young' of this species look exactly like a multicolor bird dropping laying on a leaf - except it keeps growing! (that's why a couple of leaves look kinda ragged - I let 'em stay so I can see more like mom!)

Amazing capture, Rick! That must have been a very rare opportunity and you got it onto a memory card so we can be awed by Mother Nature and I certainly am. Great!

Man oh man, that is a rare shot.
I capured 2 butterflies mating, and made a posting earlier this week about that, quiet rare as well. But this takes the cake.
I have seen them lay eggs, but was not able to capure it.
Most of them die after mating and laying eggs keeping that in mind, this makes a awesome sight, thanks for the posting.
