Taken this morning - a male Anna's hummingbird taking a break on my patio. Their metallic ruby head color usually appears black unless the light is just right, which it usually is not for photo purposes. This guy sometimes just sits here for a while, watching me watching him. Taken from about 4'.

Wow...didn't anybody ever tell him he was supposed to stop at the throat with that ruby coating? Excellent shot and it's a real piece of art you've captured. :)
