Another shot from DJ's and my drive through the bad parts of New Orleans. This is someone's front porch wih the detritus of their life and quick departure. All around this place one can see the remains of families who have lived here for generations thrown out like so much trash. By the way that's a 40,000 ton barge sitting in the street behind the ruins.

I love the beauty of your swamp photos but I am so glad you and Dj are getting out to take photos like this and particularly in the b/w...they have so much more impact then what you see on TV and help to remind everyone there is still so much needed to be done down there...a fascinating and well executed shot.:Pat.

Now this is a picture. Very good color work here, the added shoes set aside really give this image a little something extra. Unique work, great job. This will have to have high marks from me !!!!!

Thanks for reminding all of us that we all need to do what we can to help ( even if it is nothing more than a prayer), and that this is not over yet. Great work on this and again thanks for the reminder.

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

Unbelievable reg.....the shoes on the top of the steps leading to nowhere is a poignant reminder that real people with real lives lived here and all that was swept away so swiftly. Seeing the writing on that wall makes me wonder if this was a place where my son searched and if this is his handwriting........so difficult to wrap my mind around what it must be like for you & Dj....just know that you both are in my prayers........:)

Apart from being the true evidence of history this is also very dramatic work of art, Reg.
Thank you for reminding us and please remember that at least all the members of the Caedes community [which is not that small by no means] will pray and give support in other possible manners.

Oh my !! Those shoes really are a wakeup call to reality...to devastation..the black and white makes it even more so, and that barge, well, it certainly brings it all home to make one realize what all took place. Thank you for posting these photos. I think we all need to see them...

what a find it was to come across those shoes on the steps.. as if the surroundings around us that day weren't enough, this was yet another "wake up call" as to how seriously crippled our wonderful city has become.. this was one of my favorite shots from the adventure.. i think we still have a cemetary trip to do, dont we?
