During a recent trip my wife and I came across a fountain in a French city. Since the fountain was some 40 meters across I had no hope of capturing the whole thing in any meaningful way, so I shot this instead with a fast shutter speed, and a wide aperture to capture the motion of the water. The tradeoff for high speed is a shallow depth of field, but the stately lions with their frivolous water appealed to me.

Trade off is ok here. It's a great job you've done and since I'm a 'leo' ;) it's def a keeper here. Water spray and lions, very well done. Thanks.

The short DOF only enhances this photo IMHO. Nice capture over all.

Hey thanks! I was a bit insecure about this one. I shot another version with a longer exposure to get the crisp DOF that I wanted, but the water smeared. In another shot it might have looked good, but not in this one.

Nothing wrong with that trade off. There is only so much a camera, any camera can do! Looks as if you got the best out of yours. Excellent work, my friend.

This is beautiful Regmar. Excellent tradeoff. I love the motion of the water. Stuning capture.
