I shot this recently, because I liked the shapes contrasting with the textures, but when I looked at it I realized I had been lucky to capture very little other than just the rope and cleat, and I had difficulty seeing the scale of the image. I hope you like it too.

Oh, I like this alot. Glad you went with B & W as it brings out the textures of the rope superbly. Focus on the subjects is spot on ... I'm enjoying the bit of shadow play around the rope. At first I wasn't too sure about the wire running across towards the top of the image ... but the more I look at it, I think it adds something special to the composition. Excellent capture & work Regmar.

The cable looks good with the rope Regmar. It is like a metaphor of strength. Textures are good and the hemp especially shows character. B/W works well. Surely there is an seaman who will give us the name of the knot. I think that is where the title can be found.
