The title and the b/w give it a mysterious feel Rebecca. Good post.

Had to take your image here in for a bit.

Then.. the 'aha' moment hit.

'Wait for me'.. got it now.

Curious, if this is in fact a B & W conversion ... as opposed to having originally been shot in B & W?

Perhaps you are aware of the benefits of shooting in colour, then converting.

Forging ahead and on the above note, and to add to your body of photographic and post processing knowledge ... here you go:

"Digital Color To B&W; Five Top Ways To Convert To Gray"

That said..

Being bold here..

Something about the composition doesn't quite work to my eyes and in my humble opinion. Even taking into consideration the concept and idea behind your shot.

I think if you had come around (to the right) and shifted camera position a bit, still employing the DOF employed (if possible) ... and in effect tightening up the shot some (bringing the outlying bloom closer to the other more dominant blooms) ... then, yes. Again, in my humble opinion.

What I see here, or saw initially ... and this could the be case that once I did see this, I couldn't shake it from my mind ... is this:

"Wait for me" - Cropped

/\ Hope you don't mind.

Granted, tad pedestrian ... with that said, however.. think the composition is stronger.

/\ Anyways, and as always ... just some creative food for thought.

I do like the softness and delicacy of the shot.

Tonal range is good good. The rework (sort of) linked above does have a Curves adjustment (knocked it back quite a bit to try and maintain the feel of your original) ... which made/makes it slightly more contrasted.

Kudos for bringing to us something different and original. Which, I do appreciate very much.

Take the above nonsense of mine as a compliment, please.

To stimulate another's imagination and creativity and to provoke some thought suggests, to me.. mission accomplished.

:o)

p.s. Might be interesting to see the original original?
