After frantically chasing this poor little critter through the forest (and jabbing myself repeatedly with sharp brambles and thorns in the process!) I finally managed to capture this image. I think the little furry guy was contemplating taking a flying leap at me with his wee claws lashing, but I managed to snap a quick picture and get lost...I'm pretty sure he was happy to see me go. Enjoy...

This is a great shot. You're lucky he didn't come after you. I think he's doing his best spiderman impersonation, that's awesome. I don't think I would have been as lucky as you, he looks intimidating.

Good pic and to get as close as you did is pretty cool. I saw this in the voting booth and thought about how close you had to get to get this pic. Hope your wounds heal soon!

I've no compassion with you, only with the squirrel. Think 'chasing' this critter is not the proper way to get a good picture. Cornelius

PS: Julie sent me this message after posting my above comment: "Hi Cornelius. Thanks for your comment on 'Squirrel Madness'. I think, perhaps, my choice of words in describing how I got the shot was a bit misleading and dramatic. Sorry if I offended you. I assure you, no squirrel was harmed in the making of that photograph. I merely followed the creature at a respectable distance through the forest, from tree to tree, until I was able to inch close enough to get a picture. Then I gently backed away, and left him alone to his scampering. I would never dream of delibrately stressing a creature in its' natural habitat in order to get a good picture. In retrospect, 'chasing' was definitely the wrong choice of words. Sorry about that. :)"

Thanks Julie for beeing so kind to give me this clear explanation.
