This is my first try with the 'Orton Effect'. I think it makes for a fairly decent picture, although I'm not too happy with all that white space in the middle. Any hints, tips or advice would be most appreciated!

The effect works very well on this shot. It gives a light lavender color to much of the background that makes it look less like a photo and more like a drawing. very nice- ag

A grand take for Orton's!! However, a drop in gamma and some contrast problems exude which leaves the piece kinda washed out. Play a little with those elements in post and you'd have a sweet image here. Feel free to PM me as I'd luv to give the original a go in Orton's if you don't wanna re-mess with it. A grand scene, just needs a little more work in post. Keep'em coming as I'd luv to see more from you!!

I have no clue here, having never tried anything like this but I do feel a slight bit of color or something in the white area would help get rid of the washed out look. Other than that, I love the effect this photo has -kind of dream-like and soft.
I'd like to see what "Hottrockin" does with it...

Never used the Orton effect either. It's a pretty scene, however I do agree with the comment that there is too much white in the middle, otherwise nice job.

As said above I think the sky is slightly too bright but I love the photo. The soft effect gives a dreamy feel and your eye is drawn down the path. Well Done
