I received very interesting comments and suggestions to the image I posted yesterday. What was I thinking? Of course the photo would look better with a fuzzier background! So I immediately took a plane and went back to Rome to repeat the shot ... Yes, maybe I should pretend I did that. In reality, and more predictably, I went back to the photo archive and bingo, I found another frame shot with a better depth of field. The angle was slightly different but I tried to crop it like the previous one. Shot with a Canon 350D+Sigma 18-200 @ISO 100, 59mm, F5.6, 1/100sec

That is right about what i was talking about. They are both really great shots, but in this one the fountain definitely pops and draws the eye. Awesome!

I think that the plane ticket was worth the extra money!! I know. I know, but I liked that explanation better :)PJ

Nice shot. Blurring the background did make the statue pop out more and I like the angle of the shot.
