I took this photo off center to try to capture the Taj Mahal a little closer to how it would have looked like originally. It wasn't until the British that there were massive lawns in India and the unobstructed view of the Taj Mahal we know today came about. Originally there were large, lush gardens in front of the Taj Mahal obscuring the full view until you were up close.

This image is quite extraordinary firstly because it shows just the other side of Taj Mahal, and secondly because the trees and bushes cover the crowds there [which is a good thing too !]. 10/10 and in favs. Thanks a lot for sharing and congratulations on an excellent work.

Definitely a great shot. I have to agree with Marzena, crowds of tourists can spoil even the most beautiful photo. I like the bushes, they make the shot more lively.

Thank you, Marzena and Ewa, for your comments. It's funny that I didn't even think about the lack of tourists in the photo, but you are right --- of the many photos I took there this is the only one without a bunch of people I don't know in the way. ~Robin

I this is beautiful. When I was 18 I took a trip to India, so of course this reminds me of that.

This is excellent! By hiding part of this beautiful building the foliage creates a sense of mystery that bekons us.

The shrubs and trees just make this photo what it is. I see many people on each side, but they are small and so it gives a great depth to this picture. You picked a perfect spot for this photo...bravo!!

I like the way you went off the beaten track and found an original view of the Taj - away from the frontal view with the walkways and fountains - well done, this makes your photo quite special!

beautiful..I prefer the off-centered placement. I visited it a couple years ago, and it was awfully hot so we couldn;t really spend much time there
