This is a plane on static display on the USS Yorktown in Charleston SC. A dramatic sunset provided some dramatic lighting. I added no false color but boosted the shadow density with Picasa.

I love the sky in the background. It makes the image more intense somehow. A very nice capture! :)

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. There are a whole bunch of planes on static display on the deck of the USS Yorktown, as the ship is docked permanently as a tourist attraction.

The sky is especially striking. The intense yellows and oranges, with dramatic clouds coming toward you.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. To me it reminded me of the old watercolor images you would see in graphic novels. In post processing, the noise level in the sky is off the charts, but to me it makes it look more like film and/or watercolor.
