Close to midnight there was single flash of lightning followed by rolling thunder then ice and snow fell. Several cars attempted to climb the hill which I live atop, but they abandoned their efforts. The sole driver who paralleled the hill met with success as did the solitary pedestrian. Then there was nothing for several hours but glorious silence.

The lights in the distance set the scene (city) and the oddly few tracks in snow that is not very deep speaks of ice. I like the warm glow but I keep thinking.... "It is COLD out there!" Interesting scene, unusual.... I make my own categories on my hard drive and I am wavering between "Journalism" and "Photo-abstract".

Wow, what a scene you have set here. Almost like the beginning of an interesting book. Like the introduction to it. I really like the softness, even with the blur, and the colour the nighttime allows. The different tracks are so good. And the way you wrote the little commentary fits so perfectly. I like the feeling very much. Lonely, quiet night time street, with a few "marks" to show the life there had been right before the quiet. Verena

I love this photo, Nice and calm, almost silent. The lighting just makes it astonishing for me. Just the glow of the light makes it a beauty.

Music is like life, The good and the bad, but put it together, makes one hell of a life.
Now than, your picture....I like the footsteps and the trail of that single car that made it to the top...the lighting is given it a soft glow.
It's a tiny bit blurry, but it works for me, 'cause nightshot are difficult to make.
