Ive seen some great shots of butterflies on this site and I thought, Hey I can do that ! Not that easy is it ? When you do get them to stay in one place they cant be bothered to spread their wings even when you ask them nicely. Not very co-operative blighters are they. Anyway this must be attempt #25 shame I couldn't get it central but I believe that off- centre is in at the moment. Sorry haven't the faintest what type this is. Ron.

You've done an amazing job capturing this little beauty! It's so clear. I like the composition and the blurred colours in the background as well.

Butterflies are indeed challenging to photograph. I've found when they sit still they fold their wings, only to open them just when they are going to take off. You certainly caught this one perfectly! It's a peacock butterfly (Inachis io), by the way.

You must be a lucky person. They never listen to me when I ask them to "stay still and pose with wings open". Awsome pin sharp capture and your model is not a usual butterly...

If you admire nature for its creations why don't you visit the gallery of its reporter...

Ron, off center looks great - makes it interesting and you've captured this illusive creature well! Very pleasing image! - Patty

Very good capture Ron. I agree with Patty, off center is good. I've never seen a butterfly like this one. The "eyes" on its wings must be to scare of birds.

thanks for sharing it.
